Katie Knue, Head of Legal

Katie Knue serves as Head of Legal for NorthStar Clean Energy. In this role, she leads all legal strategy and compliance efforts for the organization.

Katie brings extensive experience in energy and corporate law. Prior to joining NorthStar, she was Assistant General Counsel and Head of Legal for a renewable energy developer, where she oversaw the company’s natural gas portfolio. Earlier in her career, Katie served as Senior Attorney for CMS Energy and Consumers Energy, providing counsel to NorthStar. Before moving in-house, she practiced as a corporate associate at two international law firms, focusing on mergers and acquisitions and complex commercial transactions.

Katie earned her Juris Doctor from The University of Chicago Law School and holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and political science from Kalamazoo College.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys Pilates, reading, cheering on U of M football, and walking her dog, Louise.
