Burhan Koç, Chief Commercial Officer

Burhan Koç is currently Chief Commercial Officer of NorthStar Clean Energy overseeing all commercial functions including Origination, Marketing/Branding and Communications, Commercialization Strategies, Deal Pricing and Structuring as well as Asset/Portfolio Risk Management and Supply Optimization for all new-build Wind, Solar and Battery Storage projects and existing NatGas and BiCRS (“Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage”) assets.

Burhan also currently sits at University of Houston Bauer GEMI Advisory Board and serves as an adjunct professor for the MBA/EMBA program teaching an Innovation and Commercialization course focusing on Sustainable and Renewable Energy Transition topics.

Previously, Burhan was Executive Director of Commercial & Business Development at ENGIE responsible for leading a team that specialized in product innovation, deal structuring, commercial origination of tailored Renewables, Sustainability and Energy Transition solutions for Commercial and Industrial clients. Burhan was also as a Senior Director of Commercial/Business Development at Phillips 66 and Director of Trading, Supply and Portfolio Management at GDF Suez as well as other roles in Project Management, Procurement and Engineering.

Burhan received his Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Cukurova University in Turkey and Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Houston Bauer College.

Burhan is married with 3 children and enjoys traveling while experiencing different cultures and cuisines as well as staying active by playing soccer, working out and doing yoga and pilates in his spare time.
