Aviator Wind
Overview
NorthStar Clean Energy is the majority owner and operator of Aviator Wind project, a 525-megawatt wind energy project in Coke County, Texas, about 250 miles southwest of Dallas. Aviator Wind is one of the largest single-phase wind projects in the U.S.
Solutions
Aviator Wind builds on NorthStar Clean Energy’s portfolio of 11 independent power plants and more than 1,800 megawatts of generation nationwide.
NorthStar Clean Energy purchased the project’s majority stake from funds managed by Ares Management Corporation’s Infrastructure and Power strategy, which started construction on the project. Kansai Electric Power is the project’s minority partner.
The NorthStar Clean Energy team completed construction and commissioned the Aviator project on time and helped close tax equity financing. Despite challenges stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the team safely brought Aviator online.
